Commuter Platform

Introduction

Parking Pin, Inc operates the Commuter Platform (mobile application) to provide wayfinding and routing services for parking.

What information we collect

We collect the following personal information from our users:

  • Name
  • Email Address
  • Device ID
  • Current Location

For university app users we additionally collect the following personal information from our users:

  • License Plate Number
  • Car Make and Model
  • User Classification (Student, Faculty/Staff)

You may elect to provide less information. However, omitting some of this personal information may limit your ability to access all of the benefits of our application and services. For example, we cannot process permit purchase transactions without payment information and a billing address. Some information is collected automatically as described in the next section.

Automatically collected information

We automatically collect metadata about our users' interaction in the Commuter Platform, such as your IP address, geolocation, operating system, and device identifiers. While your device information is used to identify you in relation to others within the parking environment, your geolocation is directly related to the functionality of our application. Parking Pin, Inc. requests the right to collect your geolocation automatically only while your device is within range of the predetermined parking environment. Neither your device nor geolocation data will be collected outside of this parking environment.

How the information collected is used

We use your personal information to help You utilize everything the Commuter Platform has to offer. This includes:

  • Creating and maintaining an account with us
  • Providing wayfinding and routing information
  • Providing real-time parking occupancy information
  • Communicating parking and or campus updates

Data retention

We may store your personal information for an extended period of time, depending on how You use the information. The majority of the information relating to your account with the Commuter Platform will be stored until You cancel and delete the account. Location data acquired within the confines of the parking boundaries of the campus are stored indefinitely for parking administration.

Who we share your information with

We may share your information with third parties, but only those affiliates that have been fully vetted by and have created a partnership with Parking Pin, LLC. For more information about our affiliates and their purpose, please visit our website.

As illustrated above, we share your information with affiliates for reasons including:

  • Providing excellent customer service

Information security

Here at Parking Pin, we strive to keep your private information secure and safe. All of your personal information is encrypted and is therefore protected from being accessed by outside users. However, data leaks and malicious attacks do happen. Please understand that while we do our best to protect your data, providing your personal information is at your own risk.

Do not include duty conflicts with ability to decline or change personal information

Parking Pin acknowledges the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as a leading state statute regarding the handling of user data. Your rights as a user include:

  • Right to access the personal information we have collected about you and learn how we collect this information, our purpose in collecting it, and the types of parties we may have disclosed it to;
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information;
  • Right to delete the personal information we have collected from you;
  • Right to opt-out of our sale(s)/sharing of your personal information, and
  • The right not to receive discriminatory treatment for the exercise of your privacy rights.

You can, of course, decline to disclose your personal information to us. However, failing to provide us with pertinent information may limit your ability to fully benefit from Parking Pin Mobile and its offerings. Administrator Dashboard

Introduction

Parking Pin, Inc operates the “Administrator Dashboard” (web application) to provide services for monitoring campus lot capacities and communicating with all registered commuters.

What information we collect

We collect the following personal information from our users:

  • Name
  • Work or Email Address
  • Role (Job Title)
  • IP Address
  • Browser Type(s)
  • Third-party Collectors

You may elect to provide less information. However, omitting some of this personal information may limit your ability to access all of the benefits of our application and services. Some information is collected automatically, as described in the next section.

Automatically collected information

We automatically collect metadata about our users' interaction with the Administrator Dashboard, such as your IP address, operating system, device identifiers, and cookies.

Our application currently uses cookies to enhance its functionality. You may disable cookies in your web browser, but this may limit your ability to access Parking Pin Web.
